Hair Bands

OK, I've been feeling nostalgic for the late 80s and especially the 90s. And that means that I'm listening, almost obsessively, to that kind of music. And while some of it (Guns N Roses) might be considered OK musically, I have to admit to enjoying really marginal pop music, notably Poision and Def Leppard. Bon Jovi is good too.

if you're having 80s nostalgia and want to pull back from the guns n roses you might want to check out: nouvelle vague (as in vog--you know like sheek instead of chick for chic) and their new? album bande apart or something like that. i just got the whole album off itunes after hearing this gorgeous version of u2's pride in the name of love and for those 80s goths out there (yes, i had black creepers too) they do swanky versions of everything from echo and the bunnymen to blondie.

well, i guess i've been itching do do a record review all week. and here it is... thanks drennan for indulging me. but really, check it out. good singing in the car music.

on a similar but flip note check out paul anka's lounge-style covers (i think he actually does a guns n roses as well as neil diamond and the cure) which are super fun. and drennan, i know you appreciate super fun. as in purple hair fun. hehe. and really, i'm thinking orange might be the way to go. but i might have to settle for a pedicure if i can only find someone to watch the little one for an hour or so...
